Promises, Promises, Promises

There are three steps to achieving any goal: 

  • Get on the horse 
  • Stay on the horse, 
  • Ride the horse to the finish line. 

How many times have you said, “I’m going to start dieting tomorrow,” or said I think “I’ll make an appointment with that Doc Mac guy, I mean he has been helping women and men lose weight for 40 years. Yeah, tomorrow I’m going to make that appointment. It’s free; what can I lose.”

Then tomorrow comes, and you go out to breakfast with a friend and order pancakes. You lather them with syrup, which is High Fructose Corn Syrup, another humanmade food that will mess with your hormones, weight, and liver. Then you tell yourself, “I’ll start my diet tomorrow. I promise!”

Then tomorrow comes, and you say, “I need help!” You again think about making that appointment with that Doc Mac guy, but you can’t because the Facebook ad is no longer showing up on your timeline. 

Many of the women and men I talk to admit to this procrastination game they play. This game is an actual habit that women develop. The habit comes about because they rarely make themself a priority. They only talk about what they would like to be, what they would like to do, and what they would like to have. but that’s all they do is talk about it.

Very few women and men in their “Third Act” of life pull the trigger to rid themselves of the hormonal symptoms. They say to themselves that they just have to live with it. They drop the gun and raise their arms in the air and surrender. They decide to live their lives with excess weight, lack of sleep, anxiety, depression, and loss of drives. 

It comes down to this. Do you want to spend the next thirty years feeling old, sick, and pretending that you don’t feel this way?

If you are ready to get on the horse, then get on the frigging horse. Quit wasting time. In ninety days, 30 to 50 pounds can melt away, and your hormones can be balanced. All you have to do is put your foot in the stirrup and get on the horse.

I believe one of the most important things I teach my clients is not what to do once they fall off the horse, but what they can do to stay on the horse. 

I do not kid myself. I know that you’re going to fall off the horse periodically. When that happens, I recall what Paul wrote in the Book of Romans, “For all have sinned.” Yes, we are all sinners.

 And yes, I have protocols on what to do the day after you go out and have lasagna and creme brulee.

But what is the technique I use to not fall off the horse? Below, I explain the most powerful methods I teach. 

I want you to imagine that God walked up to you and said: “Janet, Joe, will you promise me something?” You would probably faint, but once you recovered and stumbled and stuttered, you would probably say, “Whatever you ask, my Lord.”

I am sure you would do everything in your power to keep that promise. Am I right?

The tool I use to keep my clients on track toward success in any part of their life, be it their weight, health, relationships, or career, is to first:

Make a promise to yourself that you will keep your promises, especially the ones you make to yourself. 

Do you make promises to yourself that you do not keep? Let’s say you sign up for my program. I give you a menu to eat, and for the first five days, you do fantastic. And then the weekend comes. You fall off the horse. You didn’t keep the promise that you made to yourself.

Let’s take a look at this from a different perspective. Do you know someone that is always breaking promises? You know that person you plan to have coffee with, you rearrange your schedule, and as you are driving to your favorite coffee house, she calls and says she can’t make it. 

Canceling once, you understand, but what about every other time? I have this happen to me quite often. I have several women a week who schedule an appointment with me to talk about their menopausal symptoms. They even confirm and then when I call they don’t answer. 

There goes an hour of my time. What bothers me is that I could have been helping some other woman. You would not believe how many women in a day say that they had a family emergency? I think that some of them do, but half of them! 

Anyways, Here is an example. I recently had a friend tell my wife that she was on this new fantastic raw food diet? She explained to her how it had changed her life. She said that she would never eat cooked food again. Then two days later, we run into her at a birthday party. She is tearing into an all meat pizza. 

When you see this kind of behavior from friends, how does it make you feel? Is there a loss of respect? 

What if that person was you? What if you promised to stop smoking. You crush your pack of cigarettes and throw them away. And then one hour later you go to the nearest convenience store and buy another pack of cigarettes. You start smoking again. You break your promise…Again! How much respect would you have for yourself? Do you realize that your subconscious mind is recording all this? It knows that the promises you make to yourself have no substance.

Now let’s look at the opposite situation. What about the friend that always keeps her promises. You know the friend that makes a coffee date with you, and she always shows. No matter what you do, you can’t arrive before her. When this person makes a promise, she’s seriously keeping it.

How does that make you feel about her? R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

If you want to stay on the horse, always make your promises a declaration that something is going to happen. It is a definite declaration. 

So, the first step is to get on the horse. The second step is to promise that you’re going to ride that horse. You’re going to hold onto the reins with everything you have. Now you’ve got to finish.

How many times have you started and not finished? The definition of success to me is to finish. To be successful, you must complete the cycle. When you want something badly enough, you will crawl and claw your way to the finish line. 

When you are just pretending to want something, you will find an excuse not to finish. Yes, highlight that!

If you have a habit of giving up on your diet the first weekend, guess what? The first weekend you run into, you will find an excuse to quit. It is your habit to stop there, and your mind knows that, so guess what, you fall off the horse!

I have given you the tool to start, ride, and finish. You have to become a promise keeper.

To be a successful finisher, you have to realize that weekends are where you will fail. You will run into a wall, a wall made of excuses. To set a new standard, you will need to hold tightly onto the reins as you pass through that first weekend. Once you have passed through that weekend, you have raised the bar for yourself. The higher the standard, the higher the bar you have for yourself, the weaker your wall of excuses become.  

So what is the next step?

Make a promise to yourself that you will not break promises to yourself or others. What this means is, don’t make a promise lightly. If you make a promise to yourself, you are going to keep it come hell or high water. 

I do recommend to make small promises at first. For example, let’s say you have a habit of eating ice cream at night. But you want to lose 30 pounds. You know that to lose 30 pounds, you’re going to have to avoid ice cream. To achieve your weight loss goal, you’ll need to make a promise that tonight, you will not have any ice cream — just one night. If you can get through one night and keep your promise, your respect level for yourself will increase, and the next night will be less of a problem, and then eventually, you break your late-night ice cream habit. 

When I was in practice, I had a diet Pepsi addiction. I drank nearly a six-pack a day. Then I read a research paper on the harmful effects of artificial sweeteners. Here I was a weight-loss guru, and I was affecting my weight and health with an addictive habit. I decided to give up on diet Pepsis for one month. I succeeded. Then after one month, I drank a Diet Pepsi, and it tasted terrible. It tasted like chemicals, and its sweetness was overwhelming. I broke my addiction. Now its been over a decade since I have had a Diet Pepsi. Once I broke that addiction, I knew I could beat another and then another. 

Now I know that many of you may think that blowing off a promise isn’t that big of a deal. It is! When we take the wrong actions, we end up with the wrong results. 

this is probably a good spot for me to remind you of The HOPE Circle of Achievement. “Your Internal chemistry governs your thoughts, your thoughts dictate your feelings, your feelings guide your actions, your actions govern your results, and your results influence your internal chemistry.”

So, don’t make a promise quickly. When you make a promise, take time to think about it. Make sure that your promise is one that you can keep. Be a promise keeper, not a promise sweeper. 

When you become a promise keeper, you will move from being, and doing, to having. When you are a promise keeper, you’ll figure out a way to achieve your goal because you always keep your promises. It’s a great feeling being a promise keeper. Every time you keep a promise, your self-esteem and confidence will increase. You will define yourself as someone that gets it done! You will have a higher standard for yourself. 

Summary

Start with small promises to build momentum. 

Only make promises that you know you will do everything in your power to keep.

Make being a promise keeper part of how you define yourself.

How to Increase Failure Tolerance

Everyone’s Failure Tolerance is different.

Some of my clients have a failure tolerance of 3 on a 10 scale…

And others have a failure tolerance of 10.

Today I am going to write about what I have seen…

that increases one’s tolerance to failure.

So, what do I mean by Failure Tolerance?

It is how you look at your failures.

You see, some people quit when they fail…

And others get right back up…

Dust themselves off.

Those that have a high failure tolerance…

Look at failure differently than those that have a low tolerance.

For example…

Let’s say you ate a perfect menu yesterday…

And then when you weigh you didn’t lose weight…

Or maybe even gained.

If you have a low failure tolerance.

  • You become frustrated…
  • You start whining.

You know who you are.

This lowered failure tolerance.

Will weaken your ability to achieve.

You will point your finger at your body…

And say, you see, it’s impossible for me to lose weight.

There’s no upside. to low failure tolerance.

It’s kind of like people who are all stressed out…

And all they do is think of their problem.

For example, your son got an F on a test.

Your thoughts all about that F.

Your thoughts should be on the solution to that problem…

Not on the problem itself.

So how do you increase your tolerance for failure?

In this case, you want to lose weight.

Anyone on a weight loss program wants to see the scale go down.

When it doesn’t…

We have failed!

We were taught to avoid failure at all costs. 

In our example of our sone getting an F on a test…

He will tell you that he doesn’t like the teacher…

Or he just isn’t any good at math.

Many of today’s students just want to drop the class.

What if we were taught differently.

What if we were taught that failing…

Getting an F…

Wasn’t the end product…

But the start-up of the product.

What if we looked at it as an indicator…

An indicator that we needed to learn more, to experiment more.

That we needed to figure it out.

We should have been taught to accumulate failures…

Instead of avoiding failures.

If we did that…

We would have more tolerance for failure.

The more we fail the closer we are to succeeding.

So how do you increase failure tolerance?

You increase failure tolerance by doing.

Some of you can eat fruit for example and lose weight.

Others eat fruit and gain weight.

The only way to know if YOU can eat fruit is by eating fruit.

Here is another fruit example.

When I was young an apple had 2 gm of fructose.

Today, an apple has 20 to 30 gm of fructose.

You may need to experiment by eating heirloom apples…

Instead of eating conventional modern apples.

And then Wa La…

You lose weight.

The best and fastest way to lose weight…

Is by doing.

What I am saying is…

Don’t give up the first time you eat fruit.

Experiment with different fruit.

Yes…

Some foods are going to cause weight loss failure.

What if you didn’t know about modern apples and their fructose?

And when you ate them, you bloated, got a fatty liver and gained weight.

But if you eat an organic heirloom apple…

You find that you lose weight and feel great!

What I am saying…

You’re the one with the answers. 

To succeed is to go and do something and fail. 

That’s exactly what I am doing as I coach you.

By doing, by experimenting…

I’m finding out what works for your body…

And as I do this your tolerance to failure is increasing.

You will move from a 3 to a 7 on a 10 scale.

And the higher your failure tolerance is…

The more success we will have.

So when you fail…

Don’t get frustrated!

Don’t whine!

Start doing!

Oh and one other thing…

When you’re sitting there deciding…

For example to join this program.

You are doing what you’ve been taught…

You’re avoiding failure.

So when I ask you do to something…

Go all in!

If we fail…

Great!

We are getting closer to succeeding.

And your tolerance for failure is increasing…

Because failure is harmless.

When we are willing to fail…

That means we are learning.

And as we learn we move closer to our dreams and goals…

To our happy weight…

So… 

Go fail and then try again and again and again…

And with each failure, you will be increasing your tolerance to failure. 

So you ate on point yesterday…

But you didn’t lose any weight.

Don’t get frustrated.

Don’t whine…

Or get depressed.

Just do it again…

After practicing for forty years…

The only ones that fail…

Are those with low failure tolerance.

Because they give up!

Those who keep doing…

Always win!

One Percent Rule

In today’s post, we will teach you how your habits affect your ability to achieve awesomeness.

As I coach clients to achieve the body and mind they desire, I listen to how they explain to me the difficulties they are having at losing their weight, to sleep, to be happy, to have pleasure in their lives.

Losing fifty pounds in their minds is likened to climbing Mount Everest.

We convince ourselves that fifty pounds is a massive insurmountable amount of weight to lose.

To have this kind of massive success it will require a massive amount of action.

Even though with enough faith we can move a mountain, but I have yet to see anybody accomplish that feat.

The funny thing is that is exactly what they want to do.

They want that mountain to move and to have everyone talk about it.

“Did you see Sally at the party yesterday? She looked simply marvelous!”

Do you think I’m being facetious?

Just yesterday a woman was telling me that she was frustrated with her weight loss. She had lost 4 pounds in 4 days without caloric restriction.

Yes that is frustrating but in a different way completely.

Anyways, the correct way to frame achieving an awesome body and mind is to look at it with a different frame of mind.

Don’t look at the 50 pounds as Mount Everest!

Look at the first step up the mountain.

Look at the first half pound.

I call it my 1 percent rule of achievement.

Yes, I know that your friends and family won’t notice you losing one-half pound.

But losing one-half pound is doable and that makes it very meaningful.

Remember, we were born a blank slate.

We become who we are by the habits we form.

Each healthy meal you enjoy adds to your health account.

Each unhealthy meal you enjoy takes from your health account.

Good habits are like compound interest.

With each healthy meal, you are getting closer and closer to a high-quality life.

By making slight changes, one healthy meal at a time, you can guide your life to your destination of an awesome body and mind.

Making a 1 percent improvement or making a 1 percent error may look insignificant when eating that meal, but over the next month, year, the decade, it all adds up just like compound interest.

It will be the difference of who you are or who you should be.

Good habits make time your ally.

Bad habits make time your enemy.

What this comes down to…
Is a blandness…
Boredom…
Depression…
To help with your addictions…
Bring color into your life.

Purification Protocol: The Mac Gut Optimization Protocol

By now, if you’ve been following me for any time, you know that there are 10 times more bacteria in and on your body than you have cells.

To have awesome hormones, which means to be awesome, you have to treat the bacteria, also called your microbiota, as if they were as important to you as your liver, which they are.

The Mac Gut Optimization Protocol is all about using our microbiota to assist with optimizing our hormones.

I like to begin at the beginning and end at the end.

That is why The Mac Gut Optimization Protocol Starts with the mouth.

Our mouth contains an estimated 10 billion bacteria.

We don’t want to sterilize our mouths.

We want oral bacteria.

We just want there to be a healthy balance.

And we want them to be hanging out in all the right places.

Once upon a time, I had a client who had lost 30 pounds and was really proud of herself.

We both agreed that she needed to lose another 10.

The problem was that it didn’t matter what diet we used from The Mac Diet Arsenal, she was stuck.

I figured that I needed to get her hormones in even a better place.

Her gonadal hormones were right where I wanted them.

I had worked for at least 2 months on her thyroid hormones.

She was still stuck.

She then called me up one day in a frantic.

She had been to her dentist and he had said that she had a severe periodontal disease.

She had pockets in between her teeth and her gums that had depths of 9 mm.

Anything more than 5 is bad!

I put her on The Mac Periodontal Protocol.

As her periodontal disease cleared up and it was amazing how quickly her pockets reduced, she began losing weight again.

She made it to ideal weight.

So why?

First, if she has a bacterial infection in her mouth, she is inflamed.

Inflammation is the primary disruptor of our hormones.

Second, if the microbiota in her mouth is on the bad side, the bacteria throughout her digestive system will be also.

So what did we have her do?

The first 2 are givens but she wasn’t doing them correctly or frequent enough.

Flossing

First, choose a great material to floss with… Floss comes in two basic forms:

Multifilament Floss. This floss is made up of many strands of nylon fabric making it stringy and if you have ever snagged some of this floss, you have to floss to floss out.

Monofilament Floss. This floss is made up of a single strand or thread and easily gets into the tightest spaces.

Second, make sure to use the right length and the right fingers

Wrap the ends of an 18-inch to 24-inch piece of floss around your middle fingers.

Once you wrap the floss around your index fingers, you can grab it with your index fingers and thumbs leaving about 3 – 4 inches of the floss exposed.

Use your thumbs when you floss your upper teeth and your index fingers when flossing your bottom teeth.

Third, go clean off the barnacles.

Gently slide the floss between your tooth and the gum line. You should do this gently and with focused love. My dentist gave me the visual of scraping barnacles off of a ship’s hull.

After you slide the floss between your teeth, you should keep the floss snug against the tooth dipping it into the pocket where the bacteria that are messing with your hormones are.

Gently glide the floss down into the pocket until it hits bottom.

Once the floss is at the bottom, move it up and down to scrape the area carefully.

As you are moving up and down, also move the floss back and forth to clean the area even more thoroughly.

Repeat the process between each tooth with a clean piece of floss for each tooth by unraveling the extra floss.

If your gums bleed, you are infected and your gums are slowing down hormone optimization and weight loss. As the bleeding decreases, the infection is being defeated.

Brushing

I can hear you saying; Really? Doc! You’ve got to be kidding…

I’m being serious about oral hygiene because it is sooo important to have good bacteria working to optimize our hormones.

Our mouths are the front doors.

When you brush, you remove a thin film of bacteria called plaque.

Plaque sticks to your teeth and will eventually cause your teeth to fall out!

How old will you look if you don’t have any teeth?

At your age, it is sooo important to brush your teeth efficiently.

First things first.

Use a great toothbrush.

Choose a toothbrush with that isn’t filled with BPA, like most.

I like bamboo brushes.

It should have a head small enough to easily reach all of your teeth.

You should purchase a new toothbrush every three to four months, or when the bristles start to change shape.

Always rinse your brush after using it.

Store your brush upright and uncovered to keep the brush dry and less appealing to bacteria.

Use A Safe All Natural Toothpaste

I make my own toothpaste.

The reason is that store bought ones use way too many toxic ingredients.

The most toxic kinds of toothpaste to use during Phase TWO are those with fluoride in them.

If you have a malfunctioning thyroid, don’t even think about using a fluoride infused toothpaste.

Fluoride affects the thyroid adversely in many ways.

In fact, fluoride has also been shown to have adverse effects on the immune system and trigger many autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune thyroiditis.

Fluoride negatively affects the thyroid gland by:

  • Poisoning the enzymes in the thyroid gland that produce thyroid hormones; therefore, decreasing them and there go your energy and metabolism.
  • Adversely affecting the thyroid hormone receptors that are found in every cell of your body. Your cells can’t open the door to let the thyroid hormones in.
  • Inhibiting the production of TSH from the pituitary gland. remember TSH is the hormone that your doctors love and it stimulates the thyroid to make more T4, the inactive hormone.
  • Displacing iodine, an essential component of the thyroid hormones.

The thyroid hormone is made up of an amino acid called tyrosine with 4 iodines attached to it. It needs iodine to make its hormones.

I’m sure you know that the government makes a company put on their labels a warning if there is something toxic in their product.

This is what they say about chronic exposure to fluoride:

“Chronic inhalation and ingestion may cause chronic fluoride poisoning (fluorosis) characterized by weight loss, weakness, anemia, brittle bones, and stiff joints. Effects may be delayed. Chronic exposure may cause lung damage. Laboratory experiments have resulted in mutagenic effects. Chronic exposure to fluoride compounds may cause systemic toxicity. Skeletal effects may include bone brittleness, joint stiffness, teeth discoloration, tendon calcification, and osteosclerosis. Animal studies have reported the development of tumors.”

A more familiar warning may be the one you can find on the back of any fluoridated toothpaste.

“If accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.” !!!

I first started making my own toothpaste after I became frustrated with store-bought brands that had toxic ingredients, including:

  • Sweeteners: Sorbitol, sodium saccharin, and other artificial sweeteners are often used. Remember to live long and be strong, no manmade chemicals, please.
  • Fluoride: This is by far the most controversial toothpaste ingredient. Anyone with thyroid disease must avoid this ingredient or their thyroid just won’t optimize. Many of us have heard of an infant ingesting fluoride toothpaste and having to be rushed to the hospital to have their stomach pumped
  • Triclosan: A chemical used in antibacterial soaps and products. Triclosan was recently found to affect proper heart function in a study at the University of California Davis and the FDA is currently re-evaluating it for safety in human use.
  • Glycerin: Another controversial ingredient, glycerin is found in many kinds of toothpaste. Glycerin can coat teeth and prevent them from benefitting from uptaking minerals. Many have found that it actually turns teeth yellow.
  • Surfactants: Many kinds of toothpaste contain sodium lauryl sulfate, the chemical that makes it foam and lather. It has been shown to cause mouth ulcers and canker sores.
  • Artificial colors/dyes and/or synthetic flavors. No manmade stuff in my body.

After trying just about every concoction to make a safe and beneficial toothpaste, this is what I use today:

I place these ingredients directly onto my toothbrush.

With periodontal disease I add:

  • 2 drops of tea tree essential oil in place of the peppermint oil ( This has a bite to it but is known for effectively killing parasitic bacteria.)
  • In place of the coconut oil, I use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% solution.

OIL PULLING

The next action we are going to take to control the bacteria in our mouths is the natural treatment for gingivitis and periodontal disease is called oil pulling.

Oil pulling was developed in India thousands of years ago.

It is particularly useful in helping us control our oral bacteria, especially the bugs found within the periodontal pockets.

Research has demonstrated a marked reduction in the levels of the bad bacteria after oil pulling has been performed.

We’ve seen awesome results in our clients who have turned to oil pulling to take control of their periodontal microbiota.

Periodontal disease has been deemed the silent killer due to its close association with heart disease.

If you have heard of oil pulling you have probably heard it performed with coconut oil.

Many of my mentors prefer to use organic sesame oil or organic sunflower oil.

Sesame oil has a high concentration of lignans, polyunsaturated fatty acids and, vitamin E.

Sunflower oil also contains vitamin E, as well as a number of nutrients key to oral health, including vitamin D, calcium, magnesium and trace minerals.

Make sure that Sesame or Sunflower oils are organic and cold- pressed.

Though most that tout oil pulling’s benefits use these 2 oils, I prefer coconut.

It’s on my bathroom sink since I use it as a base for my toothpaste.

So, this is how you do it!

After you floss correctly and brush your teeth with an all natural fluoride free toothpaste, place 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth and slowly, gently work it.

Do this for 10 to 20 minutes. I do it while I shower.

I make sure to spit out the oil because it is full of the bacteria.

If you find it difficult to rinse your mouth with the oil for the minimum of 10 minutes, don’t worry, just spit it out.

Pointer —> Don’t spit down the drain, it will eventually clog your pipes.

With experience, you will eventually be able to increase the time.

I have heard of people having detox type symptoms after oil pulling.

If you experience side effects, perform oil pulling every other day until you can increase the frequency without side effects.

You Can’t Touch This Food! Never… Ever…

What is the one food that you should go to your pantry and eliminate right now, right this very moment?

Don’t allow anyone you love to consume this food.

What Are Vegetable Oils?

Vegetable oils are extracted from seeds…

Like the rapeseed (canola oil) soybean (soybean oil), corn, sunflower, and safflower.

They are a manmade food…

Vegetable Oils did not exist until the 1900s.

You’re saying that all oils are manmade?

Yes and no…

Olive and coconut oil are pressed from these fruits…

Yes, coconut and olives are fruits.

Vegetable oils aren’t pressed but chemically removed from seeds.

They are the most chemically altered foods in our diets…

They are not healthy!

Shame on those that tout that they are!

Vegetable oils are found primarily in processed food…

Think salad dressings to mayonnaise.

These oils are the most harmful substances you can put into your body!

How Vegetable Oils are Made

Vegetable oils are manufactured in a factory…

And they are usually made from genetically modified crops…

They are filled with pesticides. 

For example, canola oil is made from a hybrid version of the rapeseed…

Rapeseed oil contains a toxin called erucic acid…

Erucic acid is considered a poison.

The rapeseed is heated and processed with a petroleum solvent…

This solvent extracts the oil.

Then it is heated again and an acid is applied to it…

This acid removes the toxins left behind from the petroleum solvent.

Then it’s treated with another chemical to lighten the oil’s color.

The oil that remains stinks…

So it needs to be chemically deodorized.

Then if they want to make it into a solid like margarine…

They have to hydrogenate it.

Hydrogenation creates trans fats.

Do you know Americans on average consume nearly 70 pounds?

We place 70 lb of this foreign substance into our bodies!

Let me explain why they are so bad for our bodies…

But before I do let me explain the three types of fats.

  • Mono fats, which means they have one weak link within their molecular chain.
  • Poly fats have many weak links in their molecular chain.
  • And Saturated Fats have no weak links within their molecular chain.

The fat content of our body is primarily made up of saturated fats and mono fats.

97% of our fat come from these 2 fats.

The other 3% of our fats are the omega 3s and Omega 6s.

That means 1.5% are omega 3s…

And the other 1.5% are Omega 6s.

Omega 3s reduce inflammation…

Omega 6s increase inflammation.

Vegetable oils are filled with Omega 6s.

We have replaced the stable saturated fats with these unstable polyunsaturated fats.

These weak poly fats have to be used to repair damage to our cellular membranes…

And these damaged cellular membranes become weaker…

Remember that Poly fats are very unstable…

And Saturated fats are very stable…

We end up with unstable cellular membranes.

And we’re told to replace our saturated fat intake with margarine and vegetable oils…

It almost sounds like a conspiracy to make us all sick and overweight.

Poly fats are also called PUFAs

PUFAs cause inflammation…

PUFAs cause cellular mutation…

Think, cancer!

These PUFAs also replace the saturated fats necessary for proper hormone production…

And we all know that we are nothing more than a reflection…

Of how hormonally balanced we are.

You’ve heard me talk about the balance found in our cellular membranes between Omega 3s and 6s.

Our ancestors had 1 to 1 ratios…

Vegetable oils have distorted the ratio of Omega 6s to a horrendous imbalance.

We have seen 50 to 1 ratios…

Think, cancer again!

Studies have also shown saturated fats produce the least number of cancers…

And PUFAs cause the most!

Studies also show that people that eat butter have fewer heart attacks

Then those that consume vegetable oils…

In fact, those that consume vegetable oils…

Have the most heart attacks.

Vegetable oils are also filled with BHA and BHT…

These are two major hormone disruptors…

There are dozens of other chemicals found within these vegetable oils.

Who knows what these chemicals will do to your body…

Oh, I do!

Yeah…

They will kill you eventually…

Vegetable oils also oxidize easily…

Meaning that we have to use our antioxidants to combat against these fats…

Avoid all vegetable Oils!

  • Canola Oil
  • Corn Oil
  • Soybean Oil
  • “Vegetable” oil
  • Peanut Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Safflower Oil
  • Cottonseed Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Margarine
  • Shortening
  • Fake butter

Nearly all processed foods have one or more of these vegetable oils within them.

Remember to use coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and olive oil.

So?

What are you waiting for?

Go throw all your vegetable oils away.

Don’t let anyone you love to consume them…

Not even your pets.

If you are too frugal to throw them away…

Vegetable oils make great floor cleaners.

But Doc I’m Hungry… True Hunger vs False Hunger

But Doc I’m Hungry…

I hear that nearly daily.

I had to eat something…

I was going to faint!

When was your last meal?

I would ask…

Lunch…

And it’s 4 PM now?

Yeah…

Really?

I’M STARVING!

So tell me what were you feeling?

My stomach was grumbling…

I had a headache…

I felt light headedness…

I got shaky…

I became grumpy…

I couldn’t think or focus…

When I ate the chips…

I felt better…

Immediately!

This is the problem…

Since so many of my clients feel a relief of these symptoms…

After eating…

They think these symptoms were caused by hunger.

The eating of a snack has now made them overeat…

And this undermines any attempt to lose weight

You need to understand what true hunger is…

I was taught st the university that these were the signs of hunger.

After being in the weight loss business of 38 years…

Bah Humbug!

After having 1000s of patients eat The Mac Diet…

A ketogenic diet designed for the hormonally challenged…

And aren’t we all nowadays.

It seems like it…

Anyways, I have learned…

That once you beat the disbeliefs we have about eating…

Like, once you get to your ideal weight…

You no longer experience these symptoms…

Even if you fasted all day!

True hunger…

Ask someone who hasn’t eaten in a few days…

Is felt in the the mouth and throat areas…

In summary:

True hunger is primarily felt in the throat.

True hunger is good for you…

It prevents the breakdown of muscle to be used as fuel…

Because when you have true hunger…

You will eat.

Think of False hunger as the devil on your shoulder…

It’s trying to ruin you…

True hunger is the angel on the other shoulder…

it says eat…

But just enough…

If you keep sabotaging your weight, hormones and health…

By not starting or quitting a healthy lifestyle…
